One of the most common problems for a new user is configuring the default route. The default route is the route your computer and your router sends when you start your computer or router. As a new user, you would likely not have the default route configured on your router or your computer.
Most users don’t actually know what the default route is. It’s a setting that changes when you start your computer. You would likely have no idea why you would have no route configured. For example, there’s a way for you to disable your router’s default route by disconnecting your router. It might be that you want to disable your default route because you’re on a wireless network.
You could also just set your router to automatically forward everything to your sub-net, but there are some things that you may not want to do while youre at home. For example, if you have a laptop and youre on your computer, you may want to disable your router from directing local traffic to your desktop.
In either case, the way to disable default routing is by using a configuration utility that is included with your router. I use Webmin, and here is how I did it.
First, go to Webmin and check the option called “Configure Default Routes”. This will take you straight to the page youre looking for.
After selecting the option, click the link that says Configure, and then click Go. You may be asked if you want to add a new rule in the page. Click Yes. In the new page, you will see three options to add a new default rule.
If you add a new rule, you must enter a value for the Destination IP address and the Target port number. Once you set this, you will have to enter the rule.
The first thing we need to do is provide a Destination IP address. Once we have that, we can add a rule to assign that IP address to your website. For this, we have to make sure that the IP address that we are targeting is included in our Default Routes.
You can find a list of default routes on the Default Routing page in your website’s settings. This section shows you all of the default routes that have been set up for you. If you don’t see any default routes, click the No button to create a new default rule.
One other thing that our research shows is that default routes are very important in SEO because they help Google decide what pages should be rank for. Our research showed that most of the time, the default route that Google uses is the one that is set for the website. It seems that there are a lot of websites that do not want to be ranked higher for keywords that have the exact same words as the website.
